River Hydraulics

The hydraulics of a river refer to the depth, velocity, and direction of flow at any location. The hydraulics are necessarily affected by the river morphology, and the morphology by the hydraulics. Additionally, the hydraulics help define habitat areas and erosion/deposition patterns (not singularly, but they are a large part of it). Any changes to the river valley (anthropogenic or natural) will also affect the hydraulics of the system.
