June 2 – Zion National Park: Angel’s Landing and Dinosaur Experience

Today was another full day, starting with a hike to the top of Angel’s Landing. A ridge cut out f the Navajo sandstone, it presents a physically and mentally challenging hike which then rewards with extremely magnificent views up and down Zion Canyon. In the afternoon we travelled to St. George, Utah where we visited the Dinosaur Experience Museum. This museum houses the worlds best collection of dinosaur trackways – footprints recorded in 180 million-year old rocks – most of which are actually in place and housed within the museum. We were afforded a personal tour and allowed to walk right out onto the working excavation surface to examine the trackways up close and personal!
