Tonight we really got a feel for what east coasters think of when they hear “the west”. We are staying at the Ponderosa campground and then walked to downtown Cody to see the reenactment of an old west gunfight. Then we ate at a strange little pizza place that was decorated in Hawaiian motif. Ok so that wasn’t western but definitely eclectic. We ended the night at the Cody Rodeo which was a ton of fun. We saw bull riding, bucking broncos, calf roping etc. it was amazing to see the junior riders- kids 12 and under riding steers. Andy and Lucy were totally into it.
It would be fun to stay another day in Cody but its off to Yellowstone tomorrow morning. No cell reception there supposedly so I may not be updating much if at all in the next three days. I’ll be sure to take lots of pix and add them when I’m back online.
It was a long 8 hours across Wyoming but we saw some beautiful scenery, even snow when we stopped on the road at 9666 feet elevation. The RV is really feeling like home and the quarters haven’t felt too cramped yet. Let’s hope that holds out. Teenagers can be moody but they really have loved this trip. I’ve already prepared them for no Internet or cell at Yellowstone. but have I prepared myself????
Good night pardners…
Love the pictures! Sounds like things are going well. We are going to the Jersey shore for 3 days, but will follow you on the laptop.
And you’re all still alive, so there’s that! Sooooo happy the kids are enjoying it…and the grown-ups, too.
