REFLECTION
My professor Tomas was full of energy! In this small class of 15 Americans, Tomas was all over the room emphasizing the effect of historical events and making them meaningful to us Americans. Tomas had personal friends in official EU positions and knew a lot about the politics and economics of Spain and the world. He would repeat many times that “when the US gets the flu, Europe gets pneumonia.” He encouraged us to partake in politics in the US and taught us about the interconnectedness of US and European economics.
From sitting in on his lectures, I now have a better grasp of how the EU operates and how it came into existence.
