No excuses!

Often times when trying to achieve a fitness goal or any goal for that matter, we find ourselves blaming our lack of progress on our busy schedules or just not having enough time in the day in general. The time for making excuses and justifying our procrastinatory ways needs to come to an end, immediately. The reality of the matter is this: Beyoncé has 24 hours in her day and so do you. There’s no need to get into the logistics of what she’s been able to accomplish on a day-to-day basis; the issue is in you creating time for yourself to do the things you need to do. Success is the cumulative measure of consistently accomplishing smaller goals. If you’re trying to reach a goal by Summer or even by Spring Break, the time to act like it is now. A guaranteed way of making sure you’re accomplishing a small goal everyday is by going to the gym, even if only for 30 minutes. If you aren’t currently an avid gym-goer, making your way to the gym this frequently may sound excessive. However, 30 minutes is only 2% of your day. Moreover, you should feel as though you’re worth the effort. Aside from making your way to the gym, there are always better options you can choose when it comes to your choice of food, drink, even sleep habits. A large part of trying to better yourself includes training your mind to think differently about certain things. Rather than thinking of becoming healthier as a strenuous or draining process, think of it as an opportunity to wake up the each morning closer than you were the day before to achieving your goal. Each day counts just the same, and staying consistent with your decisions matters. I believe the most critical step in achieving any goal you may set for yourself is committing to that goal. Often times we take for granted the power we have as human beings and give into our everyday whims and routines; rather than setting things in place to ensure that we achieve what we want.
