Widespread Panic Spreads Across the States this Summer

Just as surely as Spring follows winter, Widespread Panic will be hitting the road this summer. The Athens, GA blues-rockers have just announced their summer tour dates. Their month long tour finds the band starting off at the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, TN on June 7 and making a short trip along the east coast, with stops in Augusta, GA, Boston, and Philadelphia. Then it is a journey on through to the west coast, with three-night runs at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, and the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.

Special guests on the tour include Galactic, The Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jerry Joseph, Conspirator, Greensky Bluegrass, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Checkout widespreadpanic.com/tour for who will be joining the band on which date and for ticket information.

This New Jersey boy is disappointed that the band will not be stopping by New York during either the spring or summer tour. Perhaps that jaunt will be made later in the summer or sometime in the Fall.  Unfortunately, I missed their last stop at Madison Square Garden due to being in London, but was able to stream the show for free online. Widespread Panic is a band that basically lives on the road, so it is only a matter of time before they hit the big apple again.

These shows will follow WSP’s Spring tour during March and April. The month of May finds the band on a short break.

Are you excited for Panic’s tour dates? Where do you think they should stop next?
