I took soil samples from my study area and sent them to the Cornell Soil Lab to be analyzed. You can find the whole report sent from Cornell, soil sampling instructions that I followed, and a detailed discussion of soil health using the links at the bottom of this page.
In my simplified version, I included my analysis and interpretation of the ratings (an anaysis of the analysis!). While the analysis provided by the lab is useful, it is important to look at the results critically. When I read through the analysis, I compared the results with my preexisting knowledge of the land (and land use practices), details the scientists at the lab in New York did not have.
