Have you ever asked yourself…
- What is regenerative agriculture?
- What does it mean to practice regenerative agriculture?
- What is the discourse surrounding regenerative agriculture?
- How does regenerative agriculture differ from other sustainable agricultural practices?
- What does it mean to regenerate land?
- What are the Indigenous origins of regenerative practices, and how may the popularized version of regenerative agriculture differ on a practical and psychological level?
- How does land under conventional practices change as a result of employing regenerative practices?
… so have I! So, I did an independent study in search of answers to these questions.
This website is an attempt to capture what I learned, what I did, and how. That said, this website does not capture the hours spent reading, taking notes, and writing to synthesize information in a meaningful way. This website does not capture the depth of discussions had with peers and mentors about my work. This website does not capture the value of connections made with students and farmers and student-farmers at various conferences. This website does not capture how other classes, my preexisting knowledge, and 21 years of life experiences have shaped how I process things.
The things I learned give partial answers to the questions above but they are by no means final explanations. I hope my study teaches you something new, raises additional questions, or inspires you to embark on a study of your own. Continue to learn, grow, and make meaning for yourself in this world.
Stay humble and be a force of good.
Take care,
Olivia 🙂
