This was really cool Nicole! You took a really creative approach to this by having a sort of conversational flow to your podcast and it was really enjoyable! I didn’t know about Wendell Berry’s religiosity before, so I definitely learned something new from your podcast! To improve for next time, I might suggest going a bit slower and leaving some pauses between phrases to break up the podcast into some broad sections for the listener to have a break and have an easier time organizing the knowledge in our own minds. Overall this was a super creative format and you did a great job!
I loved how creative you were with this! It was a great idea to include your brother, the conversational quality of this is unique and gives it a casual feel. I had never heard of the technological aspect of Wendell Berry’s philosophy, particularly how this tied into his food ethic. You did a great job of not only summarizing his legacy but analyzing and providing anecdotes that deepened my understanding. I think this is what Wendell would have wanted, you asked questions that stirred contemplation and challenged ideas. The concept of Scientific Christianity is not something I have heard of before, but I am glad you went into it a bit. Overall, you did an amazing job with this podcast! You have a lot of information in here, so maybe finding creative ways to break up topics would help the flow a bit. Including sound bites, music, or some kind of pause in the conversation could be beneficial. You did an amazing job with this!
I really loved the flow of this! I think making it an actual conversation rather than simply talking at your audience was a great method of engagement. I feel like I got a lot of information from the little bit of time that you had, and worked the important content well into the script. I also liked how you incorporated someone who’s knowledgeable about environmental studies such as an environmental studies major, and how that led to a better discussion of the topic. I also didn’t know about Scientific Christianity and had to look up doctrinal heresy and think hard about “consumerist self-centered assumptions of our western culture,” so I’m glad you discussed that a little and included input from your brother. I think one thing that could have been added was some music and/or breaks in content just to make the information a little more digestible, but other than that it was great!
I loved the way you set up this podcast! It was helpful to hear this in a conversational way and made the story seem more approachable. I learned about Scientific Christianity for the first time in this podcast, and enjoyed learning about the basis of it. I really enjoyed the conversation between you and your brother, it made it seem like a professional podcast with more than one host. One thing that I think could be changed is to maybe dwell on some topics a little more or expand on them because I found it a little hard to grasp everything.
