1. I really liked how you talked about the bill may have seemed like something leaning toward progress in social welfare but it had significant discriminatory features and effects on small farmers and especially farmers of color. I also like how you highlighted how this racism is still within the bill at this time and how you pointed to a sort of activism and support by suggesting we call our representatives.
2. I really like how smooth it flowed. It was causal and really easy to follow. I also like the touch of the little jingle that separated the different segments of your recording.
3. You did a really good Job, if there’s anything to say maybe you could add some more recordings but not really a big deal.
1. Like you said in your podcast, the farm bill is one of the USA’s oldest social welfare programs and is important to all consumers, not just farmers. This struck me because until listening to your podcast, I had limited knowledge about the farm bill and how it impacts my life. It was unfortunate to learn of the discriminatory and racist roots of the bill, although I can’t say I’m surprised. I was happy to hear that it looks like a step is being taken in the right direction with the 2023 Justice for Black Farmers Act.
2. I appreciated how you drew the listener in at the beginning of your podcast by making it personal and stating that the farm bill impacts everyone who eats – it made me want to keep listening to learn how I am impacted by a piece of legislation that I knew nothing about.
3. Not much to say in terms of improvements – I would echo Marco’s thought that the addition of other media could add to the podcast (but I do not think this is necessary).
