  1. 1. Carver was super active with black farmers and helped them to employ sustainable methods, while also making science more accessible to the general public.
    2. Great intro music! It’s so cool how you interviewed people as well, great idea and it also does a good way of introducing Carver in the context of current times. You also do a great job of wrapping up and offering action items for the listener.
    3. The music in the background is nice, but I might have it come in and out as a transition tool instead of constant background noise. I like how you have a different voice, but I would introduce this person to give some credibility and context to what they’re saying (is it a quote? Just a fact? Carver’s specific work?)

  2. 1. We have talked a lot about George W. Carver in class, but I don’t think I knew that he was one of the only Black people who was asked to educate white farmers. Unless I misinterpreted that statement, I think it’s very telling to Carver’s dedication to sustainable farming practices.
    2. I really enjoyed the little interview segments in the beginning as it really drove home that his life story and impact is so downplayed today. I personally read an article in the Smithsonian magazine and they didn’t even touch on his agriculture accomplishments, only his work with peanuts. I also really liked how your tone was so conversational and less like you were strictly reading from a script.
    3. For next time, I think some context around who the second person speaking is would help orient me to what she was saying.

  3. 1. Carver promoted nature and the environment, as well as pushing more sustainable farming methods for other African Americans. He made science more understandable and available to the public and people that were not as involved as him.
    2. I like how the different voices throughout the recording made it more enjoyable to listen to but also more engaging. The short little interviews at the beginning gave me more insight into public knowledge about Carver but also kept me wanting to hear more.
    3. To improve, I would suggest giving a short little explanation around the other person who was speaking after the short interviews in the beginning.
