Team Energy Use Stands Together!
I think it was very interesting reading all the posts and comments by the other people in my group of team energy use. I think it was very clear that many of us have faced the same problems regarding reminders throughout this challenge and that most of us solved our problems in similar ways. Through reading the other posts and comments I found many other ways to try and remind myself about my challenge. The creativity used by the other people in my group was pretty awesome and only helped myself in gaining more ways to get better at my challenge. One way that particularly stuck with me was the way Jesse used M&M’s as a reward for keeping up with the challenge. The combination of candy and saving energy was one that stuck with me!
I think we really underestimate the effect a group of people giving support to each other can have on one another. I am not speaking just in terms of this sustainability challenge either. In general, when a group of people give advice and voice their support for each other in the hopes of reaching a common goal the levels of success are boundless. For example, just a little comment on one of my posts gave me so much more of a reason to keep going and gave me so much motivation to keep being successful in this challenge. It is almost like being on a team where you feel like you cannot let your other teammates down. You feel a sense of responsibility to your teammates to give it your all and do whatever you are doing to the best of your abilities because they know you are counting on you. I love this sense of responsibility and I hope my fellow “teammates” do as well.
Being a part of the team energy use community has helped me more in this challenge then you could ever imagine. Knowing there are other people going through what I am going through and to hear and read their ideas and get their support is something that is so appreciated. For all of that I give my fellow teammates a huge thank you! They have given me the motivation and support to continue and finish this sustainability challenge to the best of my abilities!
