Meet the Lafayette Engineers in Bonn Students

Andrew: I’m Andrew M., a sophomore civil engineering major from NJ. I’m most excited to travel around and explore the rich history that Europe has to offer. I’m definitely going to miss my friends from Lafayette, as well as playing in the different bands. I’m also going to miss my family and my dog very much.

Andy: I’m Andy, a sophomore mechanical engineering major from PA. I am looking forward to traveling and trying new foods. I will miss all of my friends back home and at Lafayette.

Benjamin: I’m Ben, a sophomore mechanical engineering major from NJ. I’m most excited to travel and try new foods. I’ll probably miss my dogs most while I’m away.

Bram: Hallo, My name is Bram, I am a mechanical engineering and economics dual major from Maryland just outside of DC. I am excited to explore Germany and its culture and of course get the chance to watch some Bundesliga as I am an avid soccer fan.

Brendan: Hey, I’m Brendan, a sophomore Robotics Engineering major from Maryland. I am excited to excited to experience different cultures and see new sites around Germany, especially the famous cathedral in Cologne. I miss my family back home, but I know they are happy that I have this opportunity.

Carden: Hi! I’m Carden O, a sophomore Chemical Engineering Major from central North Carolina. I’m super excited to discover all of the hidden treasures of both Bonn and the cities we travel to! I love reading and board games, so I’m definitely going to miss TRAP’s murder mystery night and my local game cafe!

Champe: Hey, I’m Champe M., a MechE from Virginia. I am very excited to travel, especially to France and Austria, and I’m excited to eat lots of food. I will definitely miss the Ultimate Frisbee team, and all of my friends back at Lafayette.

Drew: I’m Drew A, an IntE from South Jersey. Some of my hobbies include playing card and board games. I am so excited to try some new foods and be immersed in the German language and culture. I can’t  wait for all of our travels, but I am most excited for the week long Berlin trip. However, I’m going to miss the Wawas and Targets from home, they are both so convenient. Plus I miss my family and pets at home. From Lafayette I’m going to miss the (much) shorter commute times.

Donovan: Guten tag, I am Donovan H, a sophomore Mechanical Engineering major from Westfield New Jersey. At home I like to play and watch hockey and golf, I also play wiffle ball with my friends over the summers. Although I will miss my friends from Lafayette and my family, I am most excited to travel around Europe this semester abroad (especially to Paris and the south of France). 

Ian: Hallochen! Ich bin Ian Horch, Ich komme aus Maine! Meine katze its klug. That is all the German I know. I am a sophomore Integrative Engineering robotics concentration major. I’m so excited to travel around Europe and take nice, fast, affordable public transit. At some point, I’d like to see a Bundesliga game. I’m definitely going to miss free water at restaurants.

Jack: I’m Jack G. and I am from Annapolis, Maryland. I am majoring in chemical engineering. I am most excited to learn about Bonn’s culture and to excited to Belgium and France. I like skiing, golfing, and playing video games. I will miss my friends and family from home and from Lafayette.

Jonah: Hi! I’m Jonah R. I’m a sophomore mechanical engineering major from Connecticut. I’m very excited to travel and try all the food. I also want to snowboard in the alps. I’m going to miss all my family and friends back home (especially my dog).

Joshua: Hey I’m Josh Hirsch and I’m a mechanical engineering major from Los Angeles, California. I’m very excited to get to travel all around Germany and the rest of Europe and explore other cultures! I’m a little sad about being unable to participate on the ski team, but I know my time here will make up for it completely.

Kirk: I’m Kirk, a sophomore Mechanical Engineering Student from Redmond Washington. I’m excited to travel with my friends around Europe, go rock climbing in new areas, and catch as many motorsport events as I can. I’ll miss my friends on campus the most.

Maya: Hi, I’m Maya, a sophomore Electrical and Computer Engineering major from North Carolina. I’ll miss hanging out with my dog while abroad. I can’t wait to travel, hike, have new experiences and taste delicious food. 

Melissa: I’m Melissa B, a sophomore Electrical and Computer Engineering major from California. I am looking forward to traveling especially to Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

Owen: I’m Owen B., a sophomore Chemical Engineering major from Pennsylvania. I’m really excited about traveling to Cologne and exploring Germany on this trip. I will certainly miss my friends from home, but I will be sure to keep them updated.

Robin: I’m Robin S. and I am an Electrical and Computer Engineering major from Long Island. I am most excited to travel around Europe on this trip, especially to Copenhagen. I like to play basketball, I think I will miss my pets while I am away and I will miss how close together everything at Lafayette is.

Ryan: I’m Ryan C., I’m a mechanical engineering major from the Boston area studying here in Bonn for the semester. I’m most excited to explore different countries in Europe and try to meet locals and immerse myself as much as possible in the language. I love photography and can’t wait to take as many pictures as I can while I travel! So far I’m absolutely loving it here however I am missing iced coffee and living in the same building with my friends.

Ryan: My name is Ryan D, I am from Warren, Connecticut and am studying to be a civil engineer. I am very excited to travel all over Europe but especially Switzerland, to try local food, and to get outdoors as much as I can. I’ll miss rowing with the crew team this spring and I’m wishing them a good season.

Samantha: Hi my name is Samantha! I’m from New Jersey and I’m studying Integrative Engineering with a concentration in Robotics. I enjoy theater, singing, Disney, and traveling to new places like Amsterdam! I am excited to explore the city of Bonn especially in the spring with the cherry blossoms though I’m going to miss my dogs, friends and family who are back home!

Samuel: I’m Sam O., an ECE major from Pennsylvania. I’m very excited to travel and see some of the castles in Europe. I’ll miss the music groups on campus the most.

Seamus: Hi, I’m Seamus! I’m an Electrical and Computer Engineering major from Massachusetts. I’m excited to travel across Germany and visit as many historical sites as I can. I will miss playing basketball with my friends at Lafayette, but hopefully I’ll be able to find somewhere to play at while I’m here in Germany.

Sean: Hi, I’m Sean M. from Atlanta studying Electrical Engineering. I’m excited to travel to Amsterdam and see the canal system and cool city for the first time. I’m excited to travel but I’ll probably miss my friends and family from home.

Zach: Hi, I’m Zach. I am a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering from New York City. I am most excited to travel to Copenhagen and I am very excited to ski and try new foods all over Europe. I’ll miss hanging out with my dog at home and I’ll miss my friends from Lafayette.
