  1. Luke great rough cut! I liked how you set up the interview with him off centered and the American flag on the side. In the beginning, the police lights go on too long which made my eyes/head hurt. Immediately I was hooked, as a Lafayette student hearing that the quad had kegs on it was incredible and I was intrigued. I didn’t know if he was an alumnus and was surprised to hear it was a Psafe officer. The close up of the boxing gloves was cool but a little random. I really like the end piece with the radio talking. Overall, this piece had good quality filming and the audio was super well done. I would say the B-roll is repetitive. Could you get a Psafe officer filmed on the job or even just the car moving? If those options aren’t available maybe try adding music. I found myself zoning out at the end with the b-roll keep going back to the car. Great job!

  2. I really like the interview and b-roll you use: it helps understand the narrative. Having the cup that says public safety in the frame is great because after this we completely understand who we are talking to. I really like the footage at the end as if public safety was receiving a call. The whole aesthetic of it reminded me of “The thin blue line” with the use of the lights and seeing the emergency and police cars and I think it works really well for your interview and what the person is saying. I also like it because even the person being interviewed seems a little conflicted with what he’s saying or also why certain things are good and bad at the same time and I think that makes the whole story even more interesting.

  3. I really like the quality of the interview. I would like to concur with Lisa’s comment that some elements of your interview (like the shots of the police flashing lights and the playing of the answering machine) reminded me of the “The Thin Blue Line.” On that note, what do you think about placing the last part of your clip (of the answering machine) to the intro? I ask because I think it could be a nice set-up that invites us viewers into the topic. Furthermore, I thought that usage of b-roll was kind of excessive and didn’t allow for the subject to have his time on the screen.
