ITS Coffee Break for 5/15/08

On the edition of the ITS Coffee Break, hosts Ken Newquist and Courtney Bentley explain ITS’s summer plans for Moodle, look at how Twitter is keeping people up to date with happenings in the Senate and House of Representatives, take a sneak peak at Open Office 3.0 and check out Google Reader’s ability to share notes. They also announce the early summer workshops for Moodle, Opinio, podcasting, Photoshop and more.

  • Moodle Update: Summer, Fall 2008 courses created
    • All of the Summer and Fall courses have been created in Moodle and are accessible to faculty. Student enrollments for Summer Term 1 are complete; enrollments for Fall 2008 will be done two weeks before the start of the semester.
  • Moodle 1.9 Work Begins
    • Starting to learn the ins and outs of Moodle 1.9. Anticipate an upgrade sometime in July.
  • New Student CDs ship in late-May
    • CDs should be going to first year students around May 21. It’ll include everything you need to know to get started with tech at Lafayette, including that all important Lafayette email address/network ID.
  • Domain change — coming next year (we hope) to the rest of you.
