Who can join LCEMS?
We welcome anyone, even if you have no prior experience with emergency medicine. If you are interested in joining LCEMS, please reach out to us at lafems@lafayette.edu. Applications materials can be found under the Membership tab and vary depending on if you are a non-EMT or an EMT. Applications are due during the first week of each semester.
How can I become CPR-certified?
LCEMS offers a CPR certification class once a semester. Northampton Community College also offers CPR classes throughout the year; inquire here.
How can I become an EMT?
Unfortunately, Lafayette College does not offer an EMT class. However, Northampton Community College offers the class during the fall and spring semesters as well as the summer. The full course description can be found here. Other community colleges and universities closer to home might also offer the class during the summer semester.
How can I obtain reciprocity?
If you have an EMT-B certification in a state outside of Pennsylvania, you must obtain reciprocity. Instructions on applying for reciprocity can be found here.
