Regional Artist Exhibition and Competition for
Environmental or Site-Specific Work
The BCCCA is seeking proposals for environmentally based and site-specific sculpture or installation to be exhibited at Lafayette College Grossman Gallery, July 12- Aug. 16, 2015. One proposal will be chosen from the exhibition for installation on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail from April 25, 2016- April 25, 2017).
DEADLINES & DETAILS:
Proposal submission: April 1, 2015
- Artists with a connection to the region by birth, residency or schooling are invited to submit proposals (digital files only) to toiaj@lafayette.edu
- Digital files will represent 2D or 3D proposals and should include a written narrative along with visual materials (renderings/model images/videos or animations) necessary to convey the project.
Exhibition selection: May 15, 2015
- Proposals for exhibition will be selected and artists will be notified.
- Selected artists will be responsible to delivering works to the Grossman Gallery between July 1-July 6, 2015.
- Original works and materials (such as renderings, models, sculptures, videos and/or animations) should be ready for installation. Flat works should be framed or prepared and “wall-ready”. Animation and video artists should notify the gallery 1 month prior to exhibition with media requirements for exhibition.
Proposal exhibition: July 12 to August 15, 2015
- Possibility Realities II, WVAB Grossman Gallery, Lafayette College
Installation selection: August 15th, 2015
- Announcement of selected artist/artwork based on vote by visitors/public throughout exhibition.
Trail installation: April 25, 2016
- Work will remain on the KSAT for a minimum of one year.
Stipend:
- $4,000 will be awarded to the artist for fabrication, delivery, and installation of artwork.
