What exactly is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate Frisbee is a relatively new sport invented in the mid 1960’s.  Lafayette College had one of the first teams, as Joel Silver, the inventor of the game, was a student here.  Since its conception, Ultimate Frisbee has grown to be one of the most popular sports on college campuses.

The goal of Ultimate  is to get to a predetermined score before the opposing team.  Points are scored by moving the disc down the field and having a teammate catch it in the opposing team’s endzone.  Each team plays with seven members on a side with any number of substitutes.  At Lafayette, we mainly play mixed ultimate, which is a co-ed team with a 5-2 ratio.

Lafayette Aflicktion practices every day after class at 4pm on the Anderson Courtyard, which is between the Acopian Engineering Center, Hugel Science Center, and Watson Hall. During the regular season, we will practice twice a week under the lights of Fisher Field.

We welcome new members of all skill levels and encourage everyone to come out and play with us!
