The Leopards rolled to their second straight victory at the National Tournament this afternoon, beating Bard College 6-3. Playing on Princeton University’s Dillon Courts, all top six players for Lafayette came out on top, relinquishing only one game in those six matches. The top five, which includes Chip Culp, Carter Rufe, Mark Botini, team Captain Reed Edwards and Lexy Pierce all won their matches 3-0, with the number 6 player Aung Lin surrendering only the second game before heading to victory. Frank Dalicandro lost a heartbreaker at the number 7 spot, losing 3-1, while Amar Gujral and Holden Ranz also played well but fell 3-0 and 3-1, respectively.
The Lafayette Squash team will compete in the finals of the Hawthorn Cup tomorrow, where they will square off tomorrow morning against Notre Dame at 9:00am on Princeton’s Dillon Courts. Notre Dame has also won two straight at Nationals, beating Bryant 6-3 and edging Bard 5-4.
