
It’s that time of the year again! Our annual OchoIE tournament happened last weekend and was a major success! We had our biggest tournament yet, with 13 schools and 170 people! We also had our biggest debate pool ever, with almost 50 debaters (yes, we had an octofinal round!) Running a tournament is always a lot of work, especially when the numbers are this high, but the tournament ran smoothly. We had our signature 3 round, 2 day format which allows for a more relaxed tournament, provided breakfast and lunch to all participants on both Saturday and Sunday, handed out our obnoxiously large trophies and unique, Crayola themed awards, and had our coloring competition with the coveted Crayola plushie award. As is forensics etiquette, we do not compete in our own tournament nor are we eligible for team sweepstakes. However, this year we had our novices and sophomore competitors compete! Results for the tournament are below:
