I’m happy to announce that the Lafayette Russian Club will be holding its annual co-sponsored event with the McKelvy Scholars at McKelvy House (200 High St.) on Friday, March 30th, at 7:00PM. There will be Russian music, borscht, blini, and much more. All from the Lafayette community are welcome, so be sure to invite your friends.

Keynote on Wednesday, March 23

Professor Sanborn has asked me to pass along the following:

As part of ISA Extravaganza, Paul Moore of CitiHope will be giving the keynote address on Wednesday, March 23 at 7:00 PM in the Oechsle Auditorium. CitiHope is an NGO that serves health and nutrition needs in many countries worldwide. One of their countries of focus this year is Belarus. Our own REES graduate Hannah Smock (’10) is working with them this year, and she will be introducing Mr. Moore. I encourage everyone to attend!

Russian Club at McKelvy, 2/17

The first Russian Club event of the semester will be on Thursday, 2/17 at 7:30p at McKelvy House (200 High St). It will be an informal social event with Russian food and music. All are welcome to attend; you don’t need to know a thing about Russian language or culture. And feel free to bring your friends with you.

We’ll have more information on events we’re planning this semester available, and we’re interested to hear what ideas you might have as well.

I’m happy to announce that the Russian Club will be holding its first general meeting this Saturday, Sep 18 from 2p-3p in the Marlo Room on the second floor of Farinon. We’ll be discussing the events we have planned for this semester, as well as getting your input on any other events you might be interested in us holding. (If you’re unable to make the meeting, don’t worry; we’ll post all the important information here and send it out via e-mail.)
