Mini Tesla coil

I am a big fan of Star Wars. I have always wanted to have a Jedi Saber. However, that was impossible during my childhood. My parents could not afford to buy those kinds of toy. Later when I became older, I built myself my own laser saber.  It was not really a “laser” saber but it looks similar.

I did it by building a mini-Tesla coil. Tesla was a scientist who made a lot of invention in the field of electrical engineering. He invented an electrical system that transmits electricity wirelessly, so he named it after him. It uses the hyper frequency and electromagnetism to transfer the energy. When electricity passes through a copper coil, it creates an electric field. When you use another coil to capt it, an electric field will be induced. So, you can use it to light an LED for example. However, the cool thing about this coil is that it also excites fluor gases on fluorescent lamps. That means that if you pass a fluorescent light bulb next to it, it will turn on. Therefore, I have a saber that works from an invisible FORCE!
