The team had a successful design presentation, after achieving many of the initial Alpha prototype design requirements. Several points were discussed during the presentation, mostly involving making the robot more accessible. This included users who may be visually impaired, users who fall, different light levels, and learning how the robot works in the first place.
These contributions have influenced several design decisions. To make the robot accessible to visually impaired users, the team will experiment with including braille on the surface of buttons. The range at which the robot follows will be altered to allow the robot to be reached even if the user has fallen, and the group will experiment with how much education is required to operate the robot given no prior knowledge.
