Josh Parr
We assumed that Josh knows everything about LaFarm’s operation since he is the head of food and farm. We also assumed that he knows the regulations that govern LaFarm to keep our project up to code. These assumptions could lead us to follow his lead blindly and overlook other considerations that other stakeholders might care about at the farm. Another assumption is that Josh’s opinion is shared by everyone else who works at LaFarm when in reality they could disagree with him about the water needs of the farm. Lastly, we assume that Josh’s needs apply to other farmers when in reality they could be unique to LaFarm.
Bon Appetit
We assumed that Bon Appetit will get food from LaFarm when crops are ripe. We also assume that they use these foods in their everyday cooking and meals that they serve to students. These assumptions imply that Bon Appetite uses produce from LaFarm and cares about the sanitation and betterment of the farm.
Lafayette Student Body
Our group assumed that Lafayette College Students care about LaFarm and the sustainability efforts made by the farm due to the student involvement in running and working on the farm. We also assumed that they care about the quality of the food that the farm provides via the school’s dining services. If these assumptions are not true, this project would not have much of an effect on the students of Lafayette College even though they would remain stakeholders in the project.
Easton Area
We also assumed that members of the local Easton area community are invested in LaFarm because they have the option to buy produce grown at the farm from local farmers’ markets. We are also assuming that LaFarm’s effects on the surrounding community are not unique to LaFarm, but also applies to other small farms in different environments. The effects of these assumptions are that the local residents around the farm care about the sustainability efforts and quality of produce at LaFarm and that people who live around other small farms also care about these factors for their own local farms.
Noel Anderson
We are assuming that Noel Anderson’s experiences with sustainability in a large business setting can be applied to a smaller business setting such as LaFarm.
