Environmental
The goal of this project is to reduce water waste and fossil fuel energy consumption. Our project could reduce the water wasted due to poor irrigation systems. Fossil fuel consumption could also be reduced by implementing renewable energy. Farmers and other communities could implement this system to reduce water and energy waste.
Economic
As one of the goals of this project is to reduce potable water consumption costs, an increase in the use of recycled water would accomplish this goal. Farmers and other communities could implement this system to minimize water expenses. In regions where potable water is scarce, communities could benefit from this project.
Health, Safety, & Welfare
This project could help farmers and communities increase the sanitation of produce. Following the objective of sanitation, these smaller communities could use this system to attain GAP and USDA Organic certifications.
Global
The project’s methods and techniques used could be implemented on farms in different areas with dissimilar conditions. This project’s approach to reducing water waste, clean produce, and using renewable energy could be implemented globally.
Social & Cultural
One of the effects of this project is the relationship with the local community. Everyone needs to eat and farmers are the ones that provide a majority of our food. A better relationship between farms/farmers could help build stronger communities.
