Pennsylvania Gravity Mapping
Over the last 18 years we have been conducting research projects focusing on the acquisition and interpretation of gravity data in Pennsylvania. Much of this work has been supported by the Pennsylvania Geological Survey. Below is a list of the different student theses that have been produced as part of this work:
Duncan M. Thomas, 1993, “Geophysical Modeling of the Structural Relationships between the Precambrian Reading Prong Rocks and the Paleozoic Sedimentary Sequence, Easton Quadrangle, PA”
Meghan E. Keohane, 1998, “Gravity Modeling of the Subsurface Structure of the Coffman Hill and Haycock Sheet Diabases, Newark Basin, Pennsylvania”
Sarah E. Gately, 2003, “The Correlation of Gravity and Magnetic Anomalies with Structure in East-central Pennsylvania”
Amy M. Spooner, 2006, “Gravitational Investigation of the Subsurface Geology of the Newark Basin”
Joanna Morabito, 2008, “Investigations of Long-wavelength Gravity Anomalies of Pennsylvania”
William D. Hudacek, 2010, “Gravity Anomalies and Subsurface Models of the Reading Prong in Eastern Pennsylvania“
Additional Work supported by the Geological Survey of Pennsylvania
Compilation of a Gravity Map of Pennsylvania – three year grant to complete the gravity data base for Pennsylvania
Gravitational Analysis of a Salt-cored Anticline – Carbon Capture and Sequestration Project, Indiana County, Pennsylvania
