Dr. Lesley Knoll is a freshwater ecologist and Director of Research and Education at the Lacawac Sanctuary in the Poconos. She graduated from the Miami University with a Bachelor’s degree in Botany and went on to complete her Master’s at Michigan State University. She then earned her PhD at Miami University in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology. During her PhD she received a fellowship from the Environmental Protection Agency to work on studies examining land use impacts to carbon biogeochemistry in reservoirs. She now plays a major role in integrating research from the Lacawac Sanctuary with the Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network (GLEON).
