Dr. Paul Offit, MD is currently the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and the Director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is also a Professor of Vaccinology and Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was the co-inventor of the rotavirus vaccine (RotaTeq) that is recommended for infants by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention). In addition, Dr. Offit has been a member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to the CDC and a founding board member of the Autism Science Foundation and the Foundation for Vaccine Research. He is the recipient of countless distinguished awards and the author of over 140 published papers and five medical narratives. His research is mainly concerned with rotavirus-specific immune responses and vaccine safety.
