Amanda Furtado Sampaio’16
Hometown: Brasília (Brazil)
Major: International Affairs and French
Amanda is an international student from Brazil, and she is currently studying International Affairs and French at Lafayette. She is originally from Brasília, the capital of Brazil, but she also studied for three years in Rio de Janeiro, and for one semester in Idaho, a state in the northwest of the United States. Amanda came to Lafayette College in 2012, and she is enjoying her experience. Here she is able to pursue her true academic interest with a high quality education, meeting many special people who make her experience more than worth it. Amanda loves learning new languages and meeting new people. She speaks Portuguese as her first language, a little bit of Spanish, fluent English, and is currently working on French. Rebeka has been trying to teach her some Malagasy, however Amanda says that the language is pretty hard, but she’s working on it 😉 Amanda is looking forward to going to Madagascar to meet each one of you and share her experience, while learning with you. She can’t wait to know everything about Madagascar and what you like to do, as your hobbies and daily activities. In addition, you need to give her some tips about what she needs to know about Madagascar before she arrives there, so shoot her an email at furtadoa@lafayette.edu
