I utilized Lucidchart to visualize the different frames I wanted to pull out from the text. The following case studies show how I sorted each piece of information. The color of each highlight and textbox is connected to one of these rows.

The frames were chosen based on what was most observed in existing research– Conflict vs Social Responsibility Frame. Reviewing coverage for episodic or thematic coverage is taken from McLeod and Brown’s recommendations for journalistic practice and avoiding the protest paradigm.

The following example articles are just the beginning of applying this lens of analysis. To properly engage with content analysis, a much larger sample and more comprehensive review is needed. In addition, intercoder reliability would need to be strengthened through multiple perspectives (especially with the reliance on qualitative data and perception of each article).
