Today was a lot of driving, but we were able to drive all the way into the flow front for the lava from the 2014-15 Holuhraun eruption and the hike into the Askja caldera. The weather started out beautiful, but by the time we were in the caldera we were hiking in rain, wind and 37 degree temperatures…an adventure!
