Our team created a charter to state our goals for this project and how we wish to accomplish them. The charter details the policies and procedures each member should aim to follow, such as when we expect each member to have their individual work ready to be reviewed and discussed with the team. Guidelines were created for how we will manage our time and meet deadlines, as well as for communicating with one another. In addition, we set expectations for each member regarding meeting attendance, communication, participation, and the quality of one’s work. The charter can be viewed below.
The team charter was constructed as a group, and team members were asked to submit what they thought should be laid out in the contract. Once everyone had finished submitting their suggestions, we collectively reviewed and discussed them, with members sharing their priorities regarding each suggestion. We were able to identify commonalities in the submissions, and ultimately worked together to write up the charter.

Team Charter Update (11/21):
We have not made any updates to the team charter during this semester. The team charter outlined the goals and expectations of team members, the role of our faculty advisor, as well as policies, procedures, and comradery. The team charter has been a good guide for our team’s behavior, as it emphasized meeting deadlines, excellent attendance, and frequent communication. Failure to meet any of these resulted in penalties, particularly wearing the “dunce cap” at Monday lunch sessions with all ME students. These specifics have ensured that everyone has followed the agreement and therefore, we have all been able to contribute to the project by being attentive and punctual. As we move to the solution space in the upcoming months, the team charter will be revisited. We will consider adding safety-related language that will originate from researched regulations. We will also consider adding language related to the technical aspect of the project as we begin to prototype.
