Student Researchers

Hayley Katz

My name is Hayley Katz and I’m a junior at Lafayette. I’m a Psychology major and Anthropology and Sociology minor from Andover, Massachusetts. On campus, I work as the director of the food and housing insecurity team for the Landis Center for Community Engagement, created a new program for Lafayette students to go into a local prison and engage in empowering activities with individuals in the prison, and was chosen to be on the Pards Against Sexual Assault programming committee, the executive board for the Pre-Orientation Service Program, 2 director positions in Alpha Phi, and more. I started doing research in the Neurodiversity lab in the spring of 2023 and I love it because of how much I’ve learned about coding, collaboration in research, and different struggles that females with autism may face. My main research interest is how schools impact the mental health and social lives of children with autism.

I have a strong interest in statistical analysis, research design, and data management, which has sparked my desire to pursue further education in statistics and expand my knowledge in the field. Outside of academics, I enjoy painting, going for walks, and spending quality time with my family (and of course, my dog)!
