What is the Effective Government Cluster?
The Effective Government Cluster investigates the role of evidence in policy creation. Evidence-based policy advocates for using sound research to lead to effective governance. The cluster seeks to understand the applications of academic research to create public policy that addresses major issues such as climate change and poverty through programs with far-reaching impacts. By studying the impact of evidence on the creation of public policy, as well as the politics surrounding evidence, the Effective Government Cluster looks to contribute to a political culture of knowledge and accountability. The cluster seeks to close the gap between politics and academic research through study on effective and accountable governance.
