Bethany Hamilton

• Professional American surfer who suffered from losing her left arm due to a shark attack when she was young
• She currently runs surfing programs specifically tailored to provide support for the physically handicapped and helps encourage others to try new things
• Soul Surfer, a movie that tells Bethany’s story and the struggles she was forced to overcome

• Through her non-profit, Friends of Bethany, she encourages others to live a healthy lifestyle and shares her stories of personal faith through lectures and other speaking engagements 

Andrew Kurka

• A Paralympic alpine skier from Alaska who competes in events involving the mono-ski
• At the age of 13 years old he suffered a ATV accident which left him with 3 severely damaged vertebrae in the middle of his spinal cord
• Participated in the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada as a Mono-skii

Evan Strong

• Born in Maui, Hawaii, Evan Strong was a skateboarder and surfer
• When he was seventeen years old he was struck by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle and due to injuries lost his leg
• Focused on a steady recovery, Evan attended his first ever challenge athletes event held by the Challenge Athletes Foundation in La Jolla, California which helped him get back into his favorite hobbies
