There’s an app for that…

Imagine an app that could tell you what concerts were happening around you and have direct links to purchase tickets to your favorite shows…now there’s an app for that.

John Cifelli, creator of GigScout, aims to ease the process of searching through multiple sites to try and find shows that interest his consumers. His app is developed to use a smart phone’s location to show a map with nearby shows. A user can click on each show for information, including show times, directions and other acts in the lineup. There is also a link to Spotify, where a listener can hear a sample of the artist’s music, if it’s available. Users can also link to SeatGeek to order tickets.

Although there are other competitors in his market, Cifelli has entered into partnerships with websites like SeatGeek that will help better position both of their companies in their respective markets. For more information on the deal read John Carpenter’s article in the Chicago Tribune
