Fox Reserves Release Dates

Big movie studios like Disney, Warner Brothers, and Fox often reserve movie release dates a year or two in advance, but recently they’ve been scheduling movies up to 8 years in advance. Disney, in particular, has its movie release dates scheduled through 2021, when The Avengers 3 is set to debut.

Recently, Fox has been amping up its superhero presence, rekindling the X-Men franchise and rebooting The Fantastic Four. Because of this, they recently released their superhero schedule for the next few years, including:

  • X-MenApocalypse– May 27, 2016
  • Wolverine 2- March 3, 2017
  • Fantastic Four 2– July 14, 2017
  • Untitled Film- July 13, 2018

These join The Fantastic Four, opening in 2015, and X-Men: Days of Future Past, opening this summer. The one generating the most buzz is, unsurprisingly, the untitled one, as it leaves open a myriad of possibilities. My bet would be on another X-Men movie of some sort, whether it be a group film, solo flick (possibly Magneto?)… or a crossover attempt with the Fantastic Four, something Fox has been hinting at for a while.

What do you think this mystery Marvel film could be? Fox only owns these two big properties, so what mystery could they be planning?
