“Be nicer than necessary to everyone you meet. Everyone is fighting some kind of battle.”

This simple yet powerful quote by Socrates was part of my inspiration to create this blog. In reflecting on its meaning, I realized it sums up my general philosophy in life and what I hope readers to take away from this site.

In a fast-paced, competitive world, it can be easy to become increasingly self-focused and lose sight of the human connections that truly make us happy.  On top of this, a pessimistic, sensationalized news industry can make us feel as if there is no good in the world.  Ultimately, through this pay-it-forward-style blog I hope to spread some joy in showing that selfless acts do exist and encouraging others to take their own action in spreading kindness.

After all, we all have our own battles to fight and everyone can use a little help along the way.
