The biggest advantage that solar has (in my opinion) over other renewables is how easily it can be incorporated into infrastructure. This roof material is a great example! The amount of solar energy that reaches Earth is far more than we use, so its a matter of making it a bit more economical and fossil fuels will gradually die out. I also love the concept of people becoming independent from centralized generation.
