Stellar podcast! While I felt like I learned a lot about Hamer and the FFC in the class reading, this podcast gave me better insight into how she was perceived by the world and the media, and how that plays a role in why she is not as well known as she should be. Plus, I just learned a lot of quotes from her.
This is a well-thought-out and well researched podcast, the quotes you pull from Hamer, Baker, White, and Coates show this, they’re integrated well too. Strong ending too, about how we should use our privilege to tell her story. I think you should definitely include quotes in your next podcast, just make sure you leave plenty of space for your own voice. Also, leaving a pause after quotes to process them is always helpful for the audience.
1. Like Kate said I felt that I learned a decent amount about Fannie Lou Hamer from the reading but your podcast gave some insight on her portrayal by the media and the inclusion of her quotes and individual actions really show how strong and dedicated she was to her cause and work.
2. Really smooth and felt like a conversation. I also think you had a good balance of quotes and clips and the structure of it felt really professionally done.
3. a lot of good quotes and ideas but maybe a slower pace so that audience is able to think about it a little more
