The team has returned from winter break and hit the ground running. We immediately started our prototype generation and also began thinking about our test bed. We have narrowed down our ideas to ultrasonic sensors and infrared-based sensors. The infrared-based sensors mostly contain Lidar sensors, however, we are also considering different ways to implement infrared technology such as an infrared flashlight. The ultrasonic technology we are looking into is mainly just using ultrasonic sensors that can be cheaply purchased in packs. We are thinking of maybe using a disposable sensor system if we go with ultrasound because it would only be several dollars to replace the damaged parts. As we delve deeper into the alpha prototype, we are also beginning to budget and look at pricing for different types of sensors.
