EULER Identity

Brent Utter
Team Advisor

Brent Utter is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Lafayette College, in Easton, PA. His teaching and research interests are in design methodology, design optimization, mechatronics, and smart materials.

John Cortazar
Presentation Coordinator

John's family is from Guayaquil, Ecuador, but he was born and raised in New York City. John loves listening to music while going to and from class, and he loves dancing salsa and bachata. John was drawn to engineering from a very young age due to his curiosity and passion for hands-on work; however, John has recently grown an interest in the tech industry. This past Summer, John developed skills in data analytics, market mapping, and consulting. John is excited to have been placed on a team with individuals that complement each other very well and hopes to show everyone an amazing final product at the end of the year.

Dylan Phee
Task Manager

Dylan is from Ottawa, Ontario and came to Lafayette for their exceptional engineering program. Dylan’s primary engineering interests involve taking things apart, understanding the role each piece plays, and putting them back together – something that is in the forefront of what makes mechanical engineering so interesting. He’s looking forward to putting those interests towards a product that he and his team can call their own.

Ryan Dengler
Team Scribe

Ryan is a senior mechanical engineering major from Sparta, New Jersey. He enjoys drawing, designing, and building things, and likes engineering because it allows him to attack various problems while also being creative. Ryan is also a member of the football team at Lafayette. This summer, he interned with a pharmaceutical company called Sanofi, where he helped with various engineering projects.

Chris Bluni
Wildcard

Chris Bluni is a mechanical engineering student at Lafayette College. Chris was born in New York City but grew up near Princeton NJ. Over the past 2 summers Chris interned at Hardesty & Hanover LLC where he worked with the mechanical engineering department on moving parts of certain bridges. Chris is also part of the club baseball team on campus

Edward Watson
Explorer

Edward is a senior mechanical engineering major from White Plains, New York. A couple of his interests include 3D modeling and producing music for hip hop artists. As the team’s explorer, Edward seeks to tap into the potential of fellow team members and clients to help create a useful and impactful end product.

Ryan Puri
Public Relations

Ryan is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering at Lafayette College. He has experience working in machine shops as well as experience with business and consulting. Using his skills in this diverse range of fields he hops to help create an innovative product that will make a large impact on a high risk industry.

Tim Paulis
Scheduler

Tim is from Towson, Maryland and is getting a Mechanical Engineering and Philosophy Dual Degree from Lafayette. Tim loves 3D printing and has spent a lot of time designing different 3D parts and printing them in Lafayette's printing lab. He is excited about this project and hopes to be able to utilize his skills to benefit the team.

Jamison Crow
Devil's Advocate

Jamison is a senior mechanical engineering major from Laytonsville, MD. Jamison enjoys music, swimming and designing and building things. He chose engineering because he loves taking things apart and knowing how and why things work. Jamison is also a part of the swim team at Lafayette. This summer he interned with L.F. Jennings, working in construction.

Jake Stern
Wildcard

Jake is a senior mechanical engineering major from Westchester, New York. Mechanical engineering was a natural fit because of his curiosity and love for building and understanding how things work. Jake has a passion for design as well, this was exercised during his summer internship at an architectural design firm. As one of the teams wildcards, Jake is prepared to be flexible and adapt to any role where additional support is needed. Jake is excited to work closely with a team of talented individuals to solve an important problem and to learn new things along the way.

Ethan Scott
Historian

Ethan is a senior mechanical engineer from Baltimore, Maryland. He enjoys manufacturing, design and reverse engineering problems. He picked Lafayette because of their engineering program and familiar history with the school. He hopes to put his skills to good use and to aid in the project and trails to come.

Connor McAtee
Project Leader

Mechanical Engineering interests Connor because it interfaces between electronics and mechanical systems. It is fascinating to him what society has built and what we can do to further humanity's progress. Without mechanical engineers, nothing would function as it should and we would be in a dark age. The intersection between electronics and mechanical systems provides humans with a way to control what is around us and create things people 20 years would have believed to be impossible. He loves pretty much everything about mechanical engineering; coding, CAD, electronics, and mechanical systems just to name a few. In a specific order, his favorites would be mechanical systems, CAD, electronics, and coding are my top 4 aspects of engineering.

Jay Schoudel
Mechanical Engineering Designer

Jay Schoudel is from Darien, CT.  He is a senior mechanical engineer at lafayette college who is also a part of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Jay is someone who enjoys working on projects and being a part of a team.  Jay's strengths consist of mechanical engineering design and system integration.  Jay is excited to see what Euler’s team can do as there is great potential and he is excited to contribute his strengths to the group.
