In exploring the use of gold nano-particle shells in cancer treatment, this podcast will focus on how photo-thermal therapy works, its successes, and its future. Beginning with the detrimental effects of cancer and why chemotherapy is not enough, this podcast offers photo-thermal therapy as an alternative. By using gold nano-particles and near-infrared light greater precision in treatment is achieved than more traditional methods. The diagram above shows the process as well as lab photographs of the results.

I loved the question and answer format that was used throughout the podcast. You both spoke very clear and precise, which made it easier when absorbing all the information that was given. Next time, I would suggest that for big pieces of information to try and split them up or pause in between because I had to go back sometimes and listen again to the information since there was so much given at once sometimes. Overall, I think it was a great podcast that was very informative!
Overall the podcast was very informative and on a level that is easy to understand for a person that is not already familiar with the subject. Even though the information was spoke in an easy to understand manner, it became difficult to stay with the podcast because of the large amount of information contained between the few breaks.
The podcast was well balanced. It covered challenges and advantages of the technology. I liked the use of specific examples found in research. I thought it highlighted well the use of the nano particles. There was a lot of information thrown out in a short time span, which made it a bit harder to digest all the information.
You both spoke very well in this podcast. The format is very clear although the podcast in general was very information dense. While I understood everything that was presented it was difficult to keep up with at times. Overall though I enjoyed it and the information provided was interesting.
Very clear and informative. I liked the use of detail in the explanations with the use of names and statistics. The organization was logical and the level of depth was good for an audience to understand as long as they are able to keep up.
