Our plan for this prototype is to use more of the technical skills we have previously learned in other courses. There are two phases to this prototype. First, we plan on creating a low fidelity, physical, mechanical solution that is primarily made out of Servos and 3D printed materials. This will not cost our team anything. Depending on how much we are able to progress on this phase of the Beta prototype, we hope to move to the second part where we utilize sensors and actual metal materials. This will be larger scale to fit better to a trash can and will require purchasing materials. Because we have not yet completed Beta I, we have not thought about the exact details of the specific items we will potentially purchase for Beta II. However, we wanted to be up front with the costs that Beta II might require. When researching for Beta II comes during the semester, we will update the budget.
