When I was little, about eight or nine, I wrote a heart-stopping novel. It was full of action, suspense, romance, everything a bestseller needs. And Disney stole it from me. It has been nearly a year and I still have received no credit for my thrilling novel about a snow princess who has to find control in her abilities. True, her name wasn’t Elsa and there was no singing. She also wasn’t blonde. Her name was Eve and she was a snow fairy. So not identical to Elsa…but I still think that I deserve at least some credit for the basic plot line.
To me, this story was so much more than a bunch of characters. At the time, these people were real to me and were my friends. I created them and knew everything about them–what their strengths were, what there insecurities were. Even now, I am still in love with fiction. The idea of creating something from nothing has always fascinated me. And I hope I will one day successfully be able to create something that other people will love too.
(P.S. Please excuse the really bad pun in the title…)
Very similar right? I personally think so.
