Here is a list of the kinds of writing you can expect to do in this course:
Informal in-class and homework writing: For the purpose of generating class discussion and/or reflecting on group work. You will do some kind of informal writing in class on most days, so please have a thumb drive handy for saving your work.
4 Blog posts: Each of you will be responsible for contributing 4 posts to our class blog: an introductory, autobiographical post, and three additional posts over the course of the semester in which you pose a question or issue raised by the reading for the rest of us to consider. More information about this writing (including due dates) will be available on Moodle.
3 Writing Projects:
- Writer’s autobiography: A print essay in which you reflect on your history and experiences as a writer.
- Podcast–an audio essay (a piece composed intentionally for listeners). To produce your essay, you will learn how to use Audacity, a program for recording and editing audio.
- Digital Essay–an essay intended to be read and experienced in an online environment. To produce your essay, you will learn how to use Adobe InDesign.
Each writing project will be submitted as part of a writing portfolio. Details about portfolios will be available on Moodle as the deadlines for projects approach.
