Dogs of Lafayette was inspired by the Dogs of Brooklyn and Humans of New York projects. The photos and essays are created each fall by students in The Dog Course (FYS 77), a First-Year Seminar at Lafayette College that examines constructions of the domestic dog and of human-dog relationships. To listen to an essay, click on a portrait. Then press the play button on the audio player. The profiles of human-dog relationships appearing here are based on interviews with members of the Lafayette faculty and staff. Many thanks to everyone who has participated in the interviews. Additional thanks to Jason Alley (ITS) and Todd Walton (ITS) for their help with Audacity and WordPress, and to the Technology and Library Committee for awarding me a Teaching with Technology Grant.
If you are a member of the Lafayette community and would like to participate, we would love to talk with you. Please email us!
