A WORLD OF GRAY

Statistics can easily show how addiction to opioids is on the rise. Its effects on families are often overlooked and no amount of numerical research can expose you to the reality of the epidemic. (10:00) Filmmakers: Kenzie Corbin (LAF), Luke Madronal (LAF), Laura Pezzulich (MUH)

 

ART IN THE BANANA

DOC 150: Potential Lehigh Valley Story Project Topics, September 18, 2017

 

  1. Borders of Belonging

A film challenging the Lehigh Valley’s role in the migration and immigration of Hispanic and Latinx communities in terms of equity, hospitality, and overall success.

  1. Urban Desert

Food scarcity in Bethlehem.

  1. Perspectives

A film that explores the perspectives of the Muhlenberg College community and Allentown in relation to the views they have of each other.

  1. Lead in the Lehigh Valley

Led poisoning is a serious issue in Allentown, and has significant affects on children and their development. Allentown in particular is leading the pack in regards to children suffering from lead poisoning.

  1. Learning to Tattoo

A documentary about an artistic process.

  1. Criminal at the Age of 5

During this political climate DACA students share their story and what it’s like to have basic human rights threatened or taken away from them.

  1. Investigation: Lehigh Valley

Crimes in the Lehigh Valley and how they have affected our community.

  1. Fall at the Park

A documentary about Louise Moore Park.

  1. Southside Students

A documentary comparing students of the Southside of Bethlehem. Lehigh students, and Broughal Middle School students.

  1. What the Frack is Going On?

Fracking in the Delaware Watershed over the Marcelus Shale.

  1. On the Rise

A documentary that explores Easton’s goal of attracting more people to its town through its intended plan of building more attractions (aquarium).

  1. Center City Thrift

A documentary that nuances socio-economic status and community by featuring a thrift shop in Allentown that provides community-based wifi (free) to residents.

  1. The Loss We Can Gain

Food Waste and Hunger in the Lehigh Valley

  1. Bad to the Bone

A documentary on animal abuse and animal shelters in the Lehigh Valley.

  1. Reconnecting With Our Food

A documentary about focusing on the Farmer’s Market, showing the variety of food availability and how to reconnect to food.

  1. Easton—To Infinity and Beyond

A documentary examining the various opinions regarding the growth of new restaurants, venues, and attractions in Easton, as well as the expansion of Lafayette College into the surrounding community.

  1. The Arts Valley

A story following the music scene in the Arts District of South Bethlehem.

  1. Life in the Valley

A documentary about identifying the Lehigh Valley’s culture—fashion, music, food, language.

  1. Gifted Youngin’s

A documentary about the exploration of innovation and creativity w/in young gifted minds.

  1. Many Beliefs

A documentary about a river conservation act and how nature has a spiritual value.

  1. A Marketable Modernization

A documentary about the modernization of the city of Easton, specifically the effect of new stores like the Public Market on older ones.

  1. Saving the Shad?

A film about how dams, urbanization, and land use have influenced local watersheds and, specifically, fish populations in the Delaware and Lehigh rivers and Bushkill creek. My focus is the shad population in the rivers, their decline and subsequent restoration, and how human interference has altered their ecosystems.
