After many long hours of figuring out aspect ratio/export issues (thanks Adam!) I finally got the Final Cut done. I know it’s a little bit over the 3 minute cut-off, but I think the dramatic footage at the end really is worth the extra time.

I enjoyed this interview – THE FIRST SHOT!!!!!!!!!! Great choice in music. In the beginning when he starts talking, the music in the background is too loud so I think you should bring that level a bit lower. I think the levels are the same which prevented me from listening to him at the start of the interview. Do you intend of keeping the black screen “like his girlfriend!!” part in it?
I thought it was a good editorial choice to show the b-roll shot of Mitchel at the beginning of the interview allowing us the viewers to experience his climbing; as well as, including a similar b-roll shot of him at the end of the interview. The music was a nice choice because I thought it gave a “journeying” vibe (exploring). Also, the setting for the interview provided good context for what Mitchel’s passion is. Some things that could be done to help improve this interview would be to think about the sound levels between the background ambient noise with Mitchel’s. I felt as though Mitchel’s voice was too distant. Furthermore, towards the middle of the interview you started to include title cards for the questions, but why not do the same in the beginning, such as “What is your passion?” Moreover, I would also play with the position of where you layer your text boxes on the interview (i.e., “Mitchel Mandel Climbing Enthusiast”)
