In May 2019, members of Concert Choir and Chamber Singers travelled to Portugal for a choral tour, performing in four different cities: Coimbra, Torres Novas, Lisbon, and Porto. While exploring each of these unique places, they enjoyed the food, the sights, and of course the music! This tour provided many special opportunities for members of the choir: our Lafayette ensemble sang with members of the
Orfeon Academico de Coimbra, the choral group at the University of Coimbra, in a combined performance; student conductor Emily Emick experienced conducting the choir in four distinctive acoustic spaces; and members got to experience a Medieval festival in the Castle of Torres Novas.
